Fabregas must be the priority for AC Milan in January

Leonardo and Maldini are already in the hunt for reinforcements for the January transfer market and the injury crisis at Milanello has led to an emergency situation that requires at least 3 new arrivals to fill the hole made with the injuries of Giacomo Bonaventura, Lucas Biglia and others. Especially the defence and midfield suffers from a shortage of players, which is why Cesc Fabregas should definitely be a player to look at in January.

The lack of creativity in the AC Milan midfield is quite evident, as currently the only competent players available to Gennaro Gattuso are Franck Kessie and  Tiémoué Bakayoko, who are viewed more as 'destroyers' rather than creators, which is exactly why Fabregas could be a great addition for the Rossoneri.

Fabregas has collected over 150 assists throughout his career and has the experience from the biggest matches there are for Barcelona, Chelsea and Arsenal, as well as the Spanish national team. He would be an unprecedented addition for a very inexperienced Milan team and would give a big hand to some of the younger players in the team.

Another upside of the deal is obviously the cost of the deal. The 31-year-old's contract at the Stamford Bridge expires at the end of the season, which means he would be available for a small compensation already in the winter transfer window. The salary of the Spaniard could be an obstacle which could, however, be overcome.

The player seems destined to leave Chelsea and could look for a new challenge already in January, seeing as he is only appearing sporadically for Maurizio Sarri's team this season, with just 48 Premier League minutes on his hands, with the rest being in cup competitions.

Landing Fabregas at the San Siro could turn out to be a real bargain for AC Milan. If the experienced midfielder is given an important role in the centre of the field, he might once again show his best capabilities. The slower pace of Serie A could also be an advantage for him and could expose his qualities to the best.
