Former Napoli star reveals physical spat with Giuntoli

Former Napoli midfielder Jonathan de Guzman has opened up about a furious fight that he had with Napoli sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli.

The Dutchman joined Napoli from Villarreal, following a loan spell at Swansea. He made 35 appearances in a partenopei shirt during his stay at the Stadio San Paolo. He currently plies his trade with Eintracht Frankfurt.

De Guzman was recently talking to an outlet called volkskrant.nl about the spat he had with Giuntoli when he was about to join Bournemouth in the Premier League.

The Dutchman said: "Giuntoli he is really angry, his assistant told me: 'Listen, if you do not sign, you will be very angry, if you do not sign you will be dead for Napoli, you will never play again'. Suddenly he punched me in the face and at that point I went crazy. We started arguing furiously, flying chairs.

"There was my teammate Zuniga who tried to separate us. He told me 'come on, take your stuff and go home'."
