Chelsea are strongly interested in signing AC Milan striker Gonzalo Higuain and according to Tuttosport, the Premier League giants have made their first offer to secure the services of the Argentinean striker in the January transfer window.

The Blues are not willing to invest more than € 50 million on a 31-year-old striker and even if Higuain's brother and agent Nicolas is in London to meet the Premier League giants, Marina Granovskaia is not going to spend as much for Higuain.

Chelsea's opening bid is a loan offer with option to buy. Both Juventus and AC Milan, however, have rejected the proposal of Chelsea. According to reports in Spain, Juve could agree to sell the player on loan but only if the Blues would add an obligation to buy the player at the end of the season.

AC Milan signed Higuain on a € 18 million loan deal last summer. The Rossoneri have a € 36 million option to make the player's move permanent at the end of the season.
