Man United rival Juventus for Uruguay star Godin, €20m release clause

Manchester United are interested in Diego Godin, according to the latest reports from the Manchester Evening News.

MEN Sport claim that José Mourinho is set to rival the Bianconeri for the Uruguay, as well as for Mateo Kovacic.

We revealed four days ago that the Bianconeri had opened talks for the Atletico Madrid star, as they need to replace Giorgio Chiellini and Andrea Barzagli.

The 32-year-old has established one of the best defensive partnerships of the tournament, Uruguay yet to conceded a goal as he works well with Atletico team-mate José Gimenez, another guy is who wanted in Serie A.

Godin has a deal until 2019 with Atletico Madrid, and was there for both their Champions League final defeats under Diego Simeone, as well as the Liga title they won in the last several years.

The Uruguayan star has a very cheap release clause, barely €20 million. Barely a scratch if one considers how much Real want for Mateo Kovacic (€300m).
