AC Milan and Roma to compete for two young stars in January

AC Milan and Roma to compete for two young stars in January

Serie A giants AC Milan and Roma are reportedly set to go head to head in an attempt to acquire Ajax's Donny van de Beek and Sao Paolo defender Rodrigo Caio.

Milan have drawn strong links with Caio over the past few months, despite the capture of Lucas Paqueta from Flamengo. The rossoneri are looking to strengthen their side in January and Brazil seems to be one place where they are talent spotting.

Roma though, are sitting tight. Monchi wants Caio just as much as Milan want the Brazilian. The giallorossi too will make signings in January and they feel Caio would shore up their leaky defense.

While Caio costs under 10 million euros, it will spark a big battle between Milan and Roma. But both sides will also go head to head for Ajax sensation Donny van de Beek, say Corriere dello Sport.

In this case, Roma have a slight advantage over the rossoneri because of their good ties with Ajax following the capture of Justin Kluivert recently and because of their excellent relations with Mino Raiola, who is close to Ajax.
