Berardi on when he scored four goals against AC Milan: 'That day I realised I will become an important player'

Sassuolo star Domenico Berardi has revealed that the day he scored four goals against AC Milan in the 2013-14 season, the realised that he could become a very important player for the neroverdi.

The Italian has been linked with moves to Roma, Milan and Juventus in the past few seasons, but has stayed put at Sassuolo. This season, the 24-year-old has appeared 15 times, scoring thrice and assisting thrice.

Berardi was recently talking to Sky Sport about his career so far and he was asked about the day he scored four times against the rossoneri in the 2013-14 campaign.

He said: "For me it was a beautiful evening, in which I realized that I could become an important player."

He was also asked about what was said about him when he made his debut in the Serie A. Berardi admitted that he never thought he will come this far in Italian football.

He said:  "When I scored the first goal in Serie B against Crotone, they never told me that at the age of 24 I would have scored almost 70 goals, of which 50 are in the Serie A. I would not have believed that."
