The Algeria International was feared to have picked up an ACL tear and according to the latest report of Sky Sport, the diagnosis has been confirmed. The payer has had medical examination this morning and fears of Napoli fans have reportedly been confirmed.
Although an official announcement has yet to be released by the club, Ghoulam is reported to have picked up a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament of his right knee.
The player is currently in Rome’s Villa Stuart and is expected to undergo a surgery in the coming hours.
He will follow the same path of his teammate Arkadiusz Milik who has picked up the same injury twice in the time of a year.
Doctor Mariani will be in charge of the surgery and Ghoulam is expected to face a 4/6 months lay-off.
