Cardiff and Villarreal set to battle it out for Genoa striker

Gianluca Lapadula will be one of the hottest names in this winter transfer market window. Despite the great esteem of president Preziosi, the Italo-Peruvian striker can leave Genoa, as he's facing tough competitions at the club. He's not lacking potential suitors, both in Italy and abroad

Lapadula wants to become the starting striker once again but doesn't intend to move to the Serie B, as he's not interested in going down a level. In Serie A, though, there are a few clubs interested, including the likes of Bologna and Parma

Abroad, there are also a few clubs interested. Villarreal are looking to replace Nicola Sansone, who recently completed a move to Bologna. In fact, the Spaniard have already asked about the striker, looking to reunite him with Carlos Bacca (former AC Milan teammate).

Lapadula is also courted by an English side, Cardiff, though the feeling is that Villarreal are move keen for the time being.
