Exclusive: Roma star says 'yes' to Sampdoria return

Roma star Patrik Schick is close to sealing a return to former club Sampdoria, Calciomercato understand.

Reports have linked the Czech star with a move away from Roma this January, as he looks for gametime. The 22-year-old has appeared only ten times in the Serie A so far this season, scoring once and assisting once.

We understand that Schick has said 'yes' to a loan move back to Sampdoria in January in an attempt to resurrect his career. Talks of a move back to the blucercherati at an initial stage.

A part of the deal could be two Samp players, with one being Dawid Kownacki, who feels that he could increase his gametime at Roma by moving away from Samp. The other one is Gregoire Defrel and a move for Schick will mean that Defrel goes back to Roma.

Schick joined Roma in the summer of 2017 on an initial loan deal, after he failed two medicals to join Juventus in the same transfer window.
