Liverpool, Napoli and Inter target will be up for auction next summer

One of Italy’s brightest young things will be for sale come next August.

According to the Corriere dello Sport, Federico Chiesa will be up for auction next summer, with a €45 million base price that is set to skyrocket if the young midfielder continues on his current good form.

Also chased by Liverpool, the Viola star has scored four Serie A goals this season, adding an assist.

With the departure of Federico Bernardeschi in the summer, Chiesa has picked up the winger’s mantle, despite only being 20 years old. It looked like he would remain longer when Coach Stefano Pioli commented last week that he “didn’t think” that Chiesa would be off.

Yet the Corriere confirm that Andrea Della Valle, owner of the Viola, had reassured Napoli that they could bid for the talented winger come next summer, though not in January.

This was in stark contrast to the comments he himself made about the Chiesa when interviewed at the opening of a new Tod’s factory in Arquata: “Federico? I hope to keep him with us for at least a few years. I’m optimistic.”

Yet that €45 million he’s asked for… is the price at which he sold Bernardeschi to Juventus last summer.
