Real Madrid: Icardi or Cavani in January?

Mauro Icardi and Edinson Cavani are the main transfer targets of Real Madrid for the January transfer window, Ok Diario reports.

The Spanish media insists Real Madrid President Florentino Perez wants to sign a new center-forward in the winter transfer window with the pair that is reported to be in pole position for the role.

Icardi has a € 110 million release clause that can only be triggered in the first week of July.

That’s why the Merengues would need to negotiate with the Nerazzurri if they want to secure the services of the Argentinean striker in January.

The player’s agent and wife Wanda Nara has recently revealed that Icardi is in no rush to sign a contract extension with the Serie A giants.

As for Cavani, the Uruguay striker is struggling with game time at PSG and Napoli are being heavily linked with welcoming his services at the end of the season. Napoli boss Carlo Ancelotti has admitted that a return to Cavani at the San Paolo is not impossible.  "Carletto" hopes Real Madrid won't spoil his plan.
