Juve, between Darmian & the fear of losing Lichsteiner for free

Matteo Darmian could make a return to Italy in January. After we reported a few days ago on calciomercato.com that Juventus were interested in bringing him back to Turin, Tuttosport today explains that he’s on the transfer market. Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is believed to have already given the go-ahead to offload the 26-year-old Italian international defender who is under contract at Old Trafford until June 2019. A deal could happen in January and the player that headed to England for €18 million plus €2 million bonus, could now return for around €15 million.

    THE CLAUSE OF LICHTSTEINER:
The key factor in the move could be Juve’s  Swiss defender Stephen Lichtsteiner who is under contract until 2017 but who has a clause which allows the bianconeri to extend his deal by a further 12 months thus making sure they don’t lose him on a free-transfer. So if anyone wants to buy the 32-year-old (such as Inter in the last window) they will have to pay the clause if Juventus decides to activate their option.
