Milan and the Chinese, a deadline of June: the details

AC Milan and the Chinese consortium involved in its purchase, should have an agreement in place in June according to reports from Bloomberg

The consortium, which is made up of investors from the renewable energy sector and of the media, agreed on most of the points of sale but stated they were not prepared to negotiate beyond June. According to the latest reports, the consortium will buy 50% of the club initially which could then be increased to 70%. As we stated earlier this week, Italian journal Corriere della Sera believes the group has already made a €650-700 million bid to take a majority stake in the club.

Back in January, when negotiations were in progress with billionaire Thai businessman Bee Taechaubol, Forbes put an estimated value on the club of around €1 billion. Negotiations ultimately broke down between the two parties and now president Silvio Berlusconi's Fininvest organisation are considering this new proposal. Should the patron agree to sell his controlling share, he will be made honorary president of the club he's been the head of for 30 years.
