Who is Marco Fassone: the man who is going to put an end to Galliani’s reign at AC Milan

We’ve already reported how AC Milan’s control room is shaping up under the new presidency of the consortium led by Mr. Li. Former Inter, Juventus and Napoli CEO Marco Fassone has been appointed as external advisor, but will named club’s CEO and GM after the closing by the end of the year.

Fassone is an appreciated manager and his experience goes beyond the world of football. From 1987 to 2001 he worked for some of the best Italy-based companies like Ferrero and Galbani. In 2003 he was hired by Juventus where he worked as marketing director developing the brand of the club worldwide even if his most important achievement is the plan for the construction of the Juventus Stadium.

Napoli hired Fassone in 2010 after the farewell of Pierpaolo Marino, but his experience at the San Paolo lasted 24 months only and after his time at Napoli he moved to Inter where he spent three years as General Manager and Executive advisor of Inter brand.

However, with Erick Thohir who brought Michael Bolingbroke at the club last year, Fassone was removed from his roles in September 2015, a few days after completing the transfer campaign conducted alongside Piero Ausilio.

Fassone will be the man who represents continuity between a new foreign ownership and the Italian identity of the club. After the devastating and unsuccessful experience of the duo Galliani-Barbara in charge of the club, Fassone’ could be the man who is going to put an end to the reign of Berlusconi’s right-hand man.
