As previously reported, Nigel de Jong could leave AC Milan in the upcoming transfer window as the former Manchester City man is struggled to get playing time under the Rossoneri boss Sinisa Mihajlovic.

The 31-year-old central midfielder was previously linked with a Werder Bremen or Shalke 04 move in January, but Premier League leaders Leicester have also set sights on the Holland International, calciomercato.com’s Serie A pundit Federico Albrizio reveals.

The Foxes’ boss Claudio Ranieri is looking for a strong and experienced replacement of former Napoli man Gokhan Inler, who has struggled to adapt to life in England and could leave the King Power Stadium in January.

De Jong is on a € 3 million deal a year at Milan until 2018, but he’s not featuring in a Serie A clash since Milan’s 1-0 away defeat against Genoa on the 27th of September.
