Mario Gomez was one of the biggest flops in Serie A over the last two seasons.
Expectations were high on him as the former Bayern Munich star joined Fiorentina for a fee of € 15 million in 2013.

Gomez, by the way, had struggled to come to terms with the Italian league scoring 14 goals in 47 games with La Viola before joining Turkish side Besiktas on a loan deal with buy-out clause last summer.

The Germany International is finally back on track at the Ataturk as he netted 15 goals in 22 games this term.

Besiktas, of course, are willing to make the striker’s move permanent also because the player’s release clause does not appear to be an unaffordable one as one of Besiktas’ directors has revealed to

“Gomez joined us on a loan deal with buy-out clause last summer and we can make his move permanent for € 1.000’, Gokhan Sari revealed to the Italian website.

“Last summer we paid a fee of € 3.5 million for his loan, while Fiorentina have a percentage of next sale clause ”.
