Juventus want Soriano! Samp midfielder costs a minimum of €12m

    Juventus' midfield is a shambles.

No, we're not talking about the Bianconeri's loss of Arturo Vidal and Andrea Pirlo, as their successors are beginning to acquit themselves admirably (except for Hernanes). If they are able to play, that is.

Sami Khedira got injured before the season started, came back against Bologna to score in a 4-1 rout... then injured himself again. Kwadwko Asamoah is still a fixture in the infirmary. The true pity is that talented Marseille import Mario Lemina isn't able to make the most of this because he's in the bed beside theirs, and was struggling to adapt beforehand anyway.

The list goes on and makes for frankly painful reading. The solution? Tuttosport report that Juventus are thinking of bringing in Roberto Soriano, the Sampdoria midfielder that has long been linked with Napoli, and whose near-move to the San Paolo during the summer was provocatively called "Neapolitan drama" by Samp president Massimo Ferrero.

Juventus are in constant contact with their northern neighbours, whose poor start to the season has left them in a precarious position, and could tempt them to try and capitalize on one of their crown jewels' market value.

Having recently revealed that he regrets selling Manolo Gabbiadini to Napoli, Ferrero has sworn to "never sell a player in January again". He certainly won't let the new-found Azzurri international go for anything less than his €12 million release clause.

The Bianconeri are, however, thinking of throwing in another Napoli target just to rub salt in the wound: Daniele Rugani could end up going the other way on a six-month loan.

One problem is Vincenzo Montella's high opinion of Soriano, and the fact that he now controls his team's transfer policy. He is extremely opposed to the idea.

Soriano has played 107 games in Serie A with the Blucerchiati, tallying 12 goals and 7 international caps with the Azzurri.
