REPORT: Serie A clubs have an attendance problem

Another worrying statistic for Serie A fans to contemplate: Italy have no representatives among Europe's Top 20 highest average attendances, according to a recent study from worldfootball.net. 

It is a well known fact that Italian stadiums are leaking fans, and need drastic change if they're to compete at a European level. The old boot's best-run club, Juventus, isn't in there, being limited by a stadium that can only accommodate 41.475 fans.

Inter are the best-ranked Italian team in 21st place, with an average of 44.962 spectators flocking to the San Siro on matchday. Borussia Dortmund top the list with 81.222, ahead of Barcelona (76.487) and Manchester United (75.331). The Bundesliga rules the roost, with 7 teams in the Top 14.
