Roma are ready to offer Everton target, Derby hero Strootman a new deal

It’s been quite the turnaround. Despite a good start to the season, Kevin Strootman’s form had declined in recent weeks, making many wonder who Roma’s man would be if Radja Nainggolan ever left.

Not any more they don’t, not after the Dutch international netted the key goal in yesterday’s Derby win over Lazio.

As he reported recently, our transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirms that the Oranje stalwart is now set to accept a new contract offer from the Giallorossi, worth €2.7/2.8 million a year, and set to last until 2021.

There’s a detail, though: the bonuses are yet to be agreed, and are set to be dependent on the number of appearances Strootman makes.

New director of sport Frederic Massara is also set to renew two other EPL targets, Kostas Manolas and Nainggolan himself.

Strootman tore his ACL in 2014, depriving him of the chance of playing in the World Cup. He would be unable to play at Euro 2016 due a recurrence of the injury, to which one should add a back strain sustained on international duty.

This all seems to have diminished Manchester United's interest in him, the Red Devils having not been in contact with the Dutchman since his injury recurred.
