AC Milan news: Three fullbacks for two spots

After some very convincing performances at EURO 2016, Mattia De Sciglio is ready to claim the spotlight at AC Milan too. The 24-yearold fullback warmed the rossoneri’s bench for the whole Torino clash, but his exclusion from the starting line-up had been already taken into account given De Sciglio’s physical hassles.

Luca Antonelli replaced De Sciglio in the best way possible. The former Genoa man delivered a positive performance on both phases, both when attacking and defending. Ignazio Abate, on the other side of the pitch, assisted Carlos Bacca for the Colombian’s opener. What will Montella do next Sunday when De Sciglio will be eligible to play?

Juraj Kucka and Ignazio abate seem to be pretty in sync on AC Milan’s right flank and Montella is not expected to make changes on that side of the pitch. At the moment, Antonelli and De Sciglio are battling it out to start the Napoli clash next Saturday.

Montella has no preferences between them at the moment, the Italian tactician will evaluate the next few games to see who – between Antonelli and De Sciglio – will be given the starter status for the remainder of the season.
