Berlusconi: Milan considered Sarri before choosing Mihajlovic
Well, owner Silvio Berlusconi has been able to shed some light on that, claiming that the club had considered Maurizio Sarri as a replacement for Filippo Inzaghi.
Opting instead for Sinisa Mihajlovic, Milan could only watch in amazement as Sarri took Napoli to second place in the league, even embarassing the Rossoneri in October to the tune of four goals at the San Siro.
"I compliment Sarri, and confirm that he was one of the managers we considered last year to take over at Milan" Berlusconi told Julie Italia today.
"I'd also like to congratulate Napoli for the great season they've had, and for how well they've played, not to mention Gonzalo Higuain for the 36 goals he's scored. I'm only sorry that he beat Gunnar Nordahl's record, because he set it in the 1949/1950, when he was a Milan player".
