EL matchday 5 Serie A recap: Inter and Sassuolo are out , Roma progress and Fiorentina...
Inter started off their game against Hapoel well as they took an early 2-0 lead. Things changed quickly in the second half as Handanovic's sending off allowed Hapoel to win the game 3-2, thus eliminating Inter from this year's Europa league. Sassuolo are the other Italian team who could not save themselves as they lost 3-2 to Athletic Bilbao which means that they have also been eliminated for the EL.
Roma on the other hand progressed as group winners as they beat Plzen 4-1 thanks to three goals from Dzeko and an incredible rabona from Perrotti. Finally, Fiorentina also stumbled as they lost 3-2 at home against PAOK but luckily for them, they still remain group leaders and they have a three point lead (with one match to go) on both the second and third placed ranked teams (Qarabag and PAOK) . This means that Fiorentina are also very likely to progress to the next round but they will have to wait for the mathematical confirmation.
