Ex Lazio target Sampaoli to sign with Sevilla
“I'm waiting for Sevilla to rescind Emery's deal before making my arrival official,” Sampaoli told Radio La Red, “I will be there this week. Sevilla is a team that will play Champions League football and both the Spanish and the European SuperCup”.
“This is the challenge that I wanted, to run a team that is competing at these levels”.
Sampaoli had already led Universided de Chile to a Copa Sudamericana trophy, as well as a league title back in Chile before taking over the Lone Star's national team... which he took to the Copa America final in 2015, where they beat Argentina on penalties.
Emery, a three-time Europa League winner with the Andalusians, is being courted by a number of teams, including AC Milan.
