FOCUS Inter: the dark side of Erkin's signing

While Inter Milan president Erick Thohir was negotiating with the new Chinese owners, the Lombard club’s Sporting Director Piero Ausilio and the nerazzurri’s head coach Roberto Mancini were working on the transfer market, and they were doing it without knowing that Inter’s financial situation was going to change.

The two have signed Ever Banega and Caner Erkin as free agents, and both these signings has been considered as good deals.

The 27-year-old left back only has a Turkish passport, and in Italy each club can only sign two non-EU citizens.

At the moment, Inter are tracking Teixeira, Touré and Gabriel Jesus, and they can even afford to sign them, but only one of them will be able to join, because of the mentioned rule. Erkin is definitely a good player, but he is not a champ. The question is: shouldn’t have the nerazzurri waited a little longer before signing him?
