Serie A relegation contenders Carpi have targeted former Fiorentina and Manchester City David Pizarro, the Italian newspaper La Nazione has revealed.

The 36 year old joined the Chilean side Santiago Wonderers at the end of his contract with the Europe League semifinalists Fiorentina, where he spent the last three seasons.

Pizarro’s arrival at the Stadio Braglia would boost the experience among the Biancorossi.  Giuseppe Sannino’s team can benefit already from the maturity of Marco Borriello, a 73 times Serie A scorer and three times Serie A winner, as well as Andrea Zaccardo, former senior Italy World Cup Winner and a Bundesliga champion with the shirt of Wolfsburg.

According to reports, Carpi’s board are already in talk with the Chilean side Santiago Wonderers  to know if there would be any chance of taking David Pizarro back into the Serie A during the next transfer window.

Former Premier League champion with Manchester City has played 381 Serie A matches throughout his career, wearing the shirts of Udinese, Inter, Roma and Fiorentina. He won three Coppa Italia, two Italian Super Cups
and a Serie A title.

Would he be the right choice for Carpi to maintain their Serie A status?
