Manchester United, Chelsea target Pepe throws his Real Madrid future into doubt

Real Madrid defender Pepe has yet to decide make a decision over his future at the Santiago Bernabeu as his contract with the LaLiga giants expires in June 2017 and the Portuguese centre-back has yet to sign a contract extension with the club.

According to a report of AS.com¸the 33-year-old is considering whether to leave Rea Madrid once his contract expires at the end of the season as there is plenty of competition for a regular spot in the Merengues’ centre defence. Pepe did not start Real Madrid’s last two games against Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund in Champions League and French defender Raphael Varane has been playing more consistently than the experienced centre-back so far this season.

According to the report from Spain, Pepe is now on two minds: one the one hand he’d like to end his career at Real Marid, but on the other hand he’d like to have some consistent game time.

No secret that Manchester United boss José Mourinho is a long time admirer of Pepe and AS.com confirms that several Premier League clubs would welcome the Portuguese defender with open arms adding that Pepe has also offers from China.
