SCOUTING REPORT: Milan back on the trail of Vilhena

After two years, Milan returns to the idea of Tonny Vilhena. Back in 2014, the player was considered one of the best young talents in Holland and was admired by clubs from all over Europe. The 21-year-old grew up in the youth ranks at Feyenoord and has already made 111 appearances for the Dutch giants. After a disappointing season last year, the youngster has returned to form this term scoring five goals and making four assists. After deciding against bringing him to the San Siro two years ago, Milan are now back on the trail of the midfielder who is managed by super-agent Mino Raiola.

    ZERO COST
With his contract expiring in June, the rossoneri could pick Vilhena up on a free-transfer and with the player failing to agree a new deal at his current club; it seems a summer departure is imminent.

    SAMPDORIA CHAPTER
Last year, Sampdoria tried to prize the player away from Feyenoord and his flight to bring him to Genoa was booked, before a change of heart saw him remain in Holland. Vilhena cited family problems for the reason he turned down the chance to play in Serie A. Now, a year later, it seems that the time has come for him to head over to Italy but there is competition for his signature from the Premier League with West Bromwich Albion, Southampton and Leicester City all monitoring his progress with interest.
