‘Nobody knows AC Milan buyers in China’ says former rossoneri boss

Former AC Milan boss Alberto Zaccheroni has released an interview with Tuttosport and has been asked his thoughts on the potentials of the 2016-17 AC Milan side as well as on the possible Chinese takeover which has been postponed to the 3rd of March.

“I’ve coached Beijing Guoan this year and I’ve tried to get informed about identities of new Chinese owners but nobody knows them really. It’s a strange situation because wealthy people are usually very well known in China, let’s see how this story is going to end up.”

“I don’t think AC Milan are Scudetto material. They could qualify for Champions League but only if Napoli slow down. They [Napoli] have had some negative result and AC Milan have been making the most of them. Montella is very good when it comes to take the best out of every footballer. This AC Milan side don’t have his style but that means nothing.”

“My AC Milan side was older and was also coming from one 10th and one 11th placements. Boban, Bierhoff, Leonardo and Costacurta were getting old and the Serie A was a difficult league. There were seven clubs that could potentially win the league. The weaker was Fiorentina, and they had Rui Costa and Batistuta.”
