Udinese acquired the promising Venezuelan striker Adalberto Peñaranda on a € 767.000 deal from Deportivo La Guaira last summer before loaning him to La Liga side Granada.

As widely known, both clubs are owned by the Pozzo family, just like Premier League side Watford.

The 18-year-old hit-man scored two goals against Levante, boosting his side’s survival hope in La Liga.

Peñaranda became the youngest player to score a brace in a league game with 18 years and 195 days, breaking Lionel Messi’s previous record. The Argentinean had scored his first brace in the Primera Division when he was 18 years and 219 days old.

Just three years ago, Peñaranda was selected among the 20 best South-American prospects, while last year he scored three goals in 17 appearances with Deportivo La Guaira before signing with Udinese.

With the likes of Abel Balbo, Nestor Sensini, Thomas Helveg, Oliver Bierhoff, Marcio Amoroso, David Pizarro, Vincenzo Iaquinta, Samir Handanovic, Mehdi Benatia and Alexis Sanchez (just to name a few) who kicked off their career at the Stadio Friuli, will Adalberto Peñaranda be the next product of Udinese’s talent factory?
