    Argentinian footballer hit in head by bullet during league game

    Almagro midfielder Franco Quiroz was hit by a bullet shot by a policeman during second-league game against Atletico Paranà yesterday night at the Estadio Tres Febrero in Buenos Aires.

    Argentinean policemen attending the game were forced to intervene in the violent brawl between fans after that the away team Atletico Paranà had scored the opener. The 26-year-old midfielder also attempted to calm Almagro furious fans but was accidentally hit in the head by a bullet shot by a policeman.

    Quiroz’s life is miraculously not under threat as he was taken to the hospital were the bullet was removed from his head. The footballer was even able to release an interview with Argentinean media after the surgery.

    “Police was shooting and I tried to calm fans down, I heard some gunshots and when I was about to return to the pitch I fell on the floor. I was very lucky because the bullet did not perforate my skull and doctors could remove it from my head. I’m a miraculous survivor.”
