A day to forget for Inter striker Mauro Icardi but according to reports from the UK, there could yet be a silver lining. The Sun reports that Arsenal, even before the events of today unfolded, have not given up hope of signing the 23-year-old who has just committed his immediate future to the nerazzurri.
 

The journal claims that the Gunners, who will no doubt be buoyed by the situation currently surrounding the player, are ready to launch another bid next summer. Boss Arsene Wenger has been a long-time admirer of the Argentine and made an unsuccessful attempt to bring him to the Emirates Stadium this summer.  

Now the cards may have fallen in the Premier League clubs favour and despite recent declarations by Icardi of just how happy he is in Milan, comments in his new autobiography may have driven a wedge between himself and the clubs hardcore fans from the Curva Nord. Wenger meanwhile, awaits further developments with interest.
