Barcelona, Man Utd face Inter challenge to sign Valencia’s Cancelo

Joao Cancelo is one of the sole good news for Valencia so far this season. Despite the LaLiga giants being struggling, the Portuguese right-back is delivering convincing performances and is being linked with leaving the Mestalla in the January transfer window.

According to a report of Mundo Deportivo, Serie A giants Inter are interested in signing the 22-year-old defender who is under contract with the Spanish club until 2021.

The nerazzurri are known to be looking for some defence reinforcement in the incoming transfer window with the signing of a right-back which is considered a priority by new manager Stefano Pioli. Inter, however, are not the only European club in need of a new right-back.

Both Barcelona and Manchester United urge to sign a new player in that position and the Portuguese defender is reported to be on the both clubs’ shopping list as well. Barcelona, however, are not planning a raid on Valencia in January and that would give Inter one more chance to sign Cancelo under the blaugrana’s noses.

Cancelo’s starting price is € 18 million, but Valencia are not likely to accept that fee and might ask up to € 30 million to sell the player who features in Jorge Mendes’ clients list.
