FOCUS: why Higuain could leave Napoli

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has no intention to lose his team’s star Gonzalo Higuain, to whom he is ready to offer a €7 million per season salary, an amount that not many players earn in Italy. The azzurri are already seeking some alternatives like Romelu Lukaku and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, but they know that it will be difficult to replace such a precious player for Maurizio Sarri’s team. The negotiations with the agents of the Argentine striker continue, but De Laurentiis also knows that El Pipita won’t stay forever. Moreover, if another club comes with €94 million and pay the player’s release clause, there will be nothing to do.
Meanwhile, the 29-year-old knows that if he would move to an European top club, he would be a normal player and no longer a hero. On the other hand, he wants to win some trophies, and in Naples it will be extremely difficult. Somebody says that his agents don’t want to renew their client’s contract, but it’s not the case.
In the mid time, Napoli fans are extremely upset, and are waiting for a player’s declaration; by the way, the former Real Madrid man is the only one who could stop a transfer if somebody would play his release clause.
