Former Red Devil set to join Novara
According to Gianlucadimarzio.com, former Manchester United and Sampdoria striker Federico Macheda will shortly be announced as a new signing at Novara. The Serie B side have made a move for the 25-year-old who is currently out of contract and available as a free-agent.
The portal states that the player has passed a medical and will be unveiled in the next 24 hours. Having been nurtured in the Lazio youth system, Macheda made the switch to Old Trafford in 2007 and scored on his debut for the Red Devils in April 2009. He failed to get a regular starting berth however and was subsequently sent out on-loan to Sampdoria in 2011.
Once again, he failed to make the grade back in his homeland and spent the next five season’s on-loan to Queens Park Rangers, Stuttgart, Doncaster Rovers, Birmingham City, Cardiff City and Nottingham Forest. At such a young age, Macheda now tries to resurrect his career in the second-tier of Italian football.
