How Verratti's substitution could cause him to leave PSG

“Marco Verratti isn’t scoring, he isn’t producing assists, he isn’t building the play. If he wants to leave, no problem!”

RMC pundit Daniel Riolo’s outburst on last night’s AfterFoot show says a lot about Verratti’s current situation in Paris, made no easier by his substitution last night, in which he turned towards Coach Unai Emery and, clearly irritated, asked him: “What is it? Have I done something wrong? Tell me, what have I done wrong?”.

The Italian is hardly the only PSG player who is unhappy at the Spanish Coach, with the likes of Blaise Matuidi, Kevin Trapp and Angel Di Maria all complaining at the moment.

Verratti seems to have lost the harmony he once benefitted from in the PSG locker room, possibly because of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Laurent Blanc’s departures. New Coach Unai Emery doesn’t see him as indispesable, that’s for sure, and it could push the former Pescara man to seek pastures new.
