Juventus pushing to send Hernanes to China

Hernanes to China is now a possibility after Juventus failed to offload the player to the Far-East in January. The main reason for this was that the Brazilian midfielder wanted time to assess what a move would entail and now it seems as though the time is right. Too many players in the Juventus midfield means someone has to go; unfortunately in this instance, that someone is Hernanes.

Jiangsu tried to take him in January without success, but negotiations with several clubs have been ongoing through an intermediary and his destination could be Shanghai. Juventus will ask around €8.5 million for the player and have accepted that they will have to take a loss. The important thing for the bianconeri is that currently, Hernanes earns €2.7 million a season plus bonuses and is contracted to the Turin giants until 2018.

Shanghai Shenhua, who already have Guarin and Obafemi Martins amongst others, and Shanghai SIPG coached by Sven Goran Eriksson, are fighting it out to secure the services of the 30-year-old. For Juventus, the sale of Hernanes could bolster their transfer kitty by around €20 million and it’s difficult to believe that they could get a better offer from anywhere else.
