Juventus continue to search for another midfielder despite almost closing the deal with Roma for Miralem Pjanic. For a long time now, a name close at the top pf the wanted list has been 22-year Portuguese star Andre Gomes. The player is currently under contract at Valencia until 2020 and the Spanish club value their man at €40 million and are hoping to substitute him with 18-year-old Amadou Diawara of Bologna for just €15 million.
El Mundo Deportivo reports that Manchester United are still the favourites to land Gomes with fellow countryman Jose Mourinho a known admirer. The same journal also states however, that Barcelona have also entered the running and a delegation from the club were present at Portugal’s 7-0 demolition of Estonia earlier this week. The Catalan giants may have a gap to fill in the centre of the pitch if Javier Mascherano decides to bid farewell this summer.
