Lazio want Pablo Edson Barrera Acosta. Despite the limitation to non-EU players, Lotito wants to acquire the player who is liked by coach Reja. The 23 year old from Tlalnepantla is fast, skilled and tireless: he performed well in the World Cup and many clubs are now interested in him, including Everton, West Ham and above all Espanyol.

Speaking exclusively to Calciomercato.com, Antonio Maisto, partner of Promanage (the agency who represents the player in Mexico), said: 'At the moment the situation is in stand by. If we don't resolve this non-EU limitation I think it will be difficult for Barrera to go to Lazio. On the 15th there will be a meeting at the Lega Calcio, perhaps some action will be taken against this new rule. Lazio is in pole position but Espanyol will soon make an offer'.
