Man City, Roma, Napoli WON'T match Bologna's €15m Diawara pricetag

What is the situation with Amadou Diawara, and the many clubs who are chasing Bologna's Guinean crown jewel?

Well, none of them are matching the €15 million the Felsinei want for him, if the Corriere di Bologna is to be believed. In fact, Valencia's €10m offer is the highest we've seen so far, higher than Roma, Juventus, Napoli, Manchester City and West Ham, and that's only a few of the clubs who are chasing him.

Bologna held a summit in Montreal recently, in which owner Joey Saputo, Marco Di Vaio, Riccardo Fenucci and Claudio Bigon discussed a number of key issues, including this one.

So far, from what we can tell, the idea of keeping the young 18-year-old is not a particularly liked one, as even a €10m sale would be a huge payday compared to the mere €800k it cost to bring him in. That said, this inevitably puts pressure on the club to sell him this summer, and doesn't bode well in its favour when it comes to negotiating.

Bologna's plan so far is to keep asking for €15m, plus 10-20% of the proceeds of an eventual sale to a third party. It is far from certain that even the latter condition will be agreed to.

Coach Donadoni certainly won't force the club's hand in trying to keep Diawara: from what this report gathers, the former Parma Coach is very flexible, and will be happy as long as he gets another good centre midfielder. The club's transfer policy is likely to shape his approach, too: if a good playmaker is out there, Donadoni will adapt to him, same if there are good wingers or good centre midfielders.
