Manchester City not offering Yaya new contract

Manchester City are not going to offer Yaya Touré a contract extension and the Ivorian midfielder will be left free to join another team as a free agent at the end of the season, once his contract with the Citizens expires. The 33-year-old midfielder was a regular starter under previous managers Roberto Mancini and Manuel Pellegrini, but the arrival of Pep Guardiola at the Etihad has cost the former Barcelona star in terms of game time as Yaya has only collected five appearances with the Premier League giants so far this season.

According to a report of the Mirror, Touré is among those players Manchester City players who are not going to be offered new deals: Pablo Zabatela, Gael Clichy, Bacary Sagna, Roberto Caballero and Jesus Navas are also going to leave the Etihad at the end of the current campaign – if not earlier – whilst Brazilian midfielder Fernardinho is likely to agree on a new two-year deal to extend his stay at the club until 2019.

Touré was a long time target of Inter when Roberto Mancini was in charge of the nerazzurri side. The solid centre midfielder has recently been linked with a January move to Juventus with the current Serie A table leaders looking for some midfield reinforcement.
