Diego Armando Maradona, spoke about his 50th birthday with the Argentine daily Ole': "I was hoping to celebrate leading the national team. This is the saddest birthday of my life. I saw myselft leading the national team and the fact that I don't have any chance to, makes me feel bad. My misfortune was when we were eliminated from the world cup".

 

What would be the best present? "To return coaching the national team, and that's what I'll wish when I blow up the candles on the cake. So at least my 51st birthday will be the happiest". 

 

What was the best team that you played with? "Without doubt Napoli. I have never found a house and I always lived in an apartment until Ferlaino gave me the possibility to be competitive for the Scudetto. We won two titles, the Coppa Italia and the Uefa Cup. Everyday that passed we got bigger. My best teammate? I enjoyed myself the most with Caniggia".
