    Milan Derby special: Montella's good Derby record... and Pioli's bad one

    If there’s one thing Milan fans can be optimistic about, it’s Coach Vincenzo Montella’s record against derby rivals. 

    A few days from the first Milan Derby of the season, it looks like Inter are behind in the Coaching department compared to AC Milan, who have gained stability thanks to the arrival of the former Fiorentina and Sampdoria Coach.
     
    While the Nerazzurri have conceded goals left and right, their rivals have gained a measure of solidity at the back, with a strong pairing in Gabriel Paletta and Alessio Romagnoli.

    There’s more, however: Montella has managed to win 10 of his 19 local derbies, if one counts Fiorentina - Bologna and Catania - Palermo.
     
    While L’Aeroplanino has managed to keep things on an even keel with a low budget, Inter have come into town with a huge budget, only to fritter it away by sacking Frank De Boer. They go into this game with Stefano Pioli, whose record in derbies isn’t as good, having not won a single Derby against Roma in four attempts.
