    Milan’s future will be Chinese. If there were any remaining doubts concerning the deal between Fininvest and the Chinese consortium led by Han Li, these doubts have now been extinguished. Sino-Europe had already given Fininvest 15 million euros, which added to the 85 million euros of today equal 100 million euros. Sino-Europe will be buying 99.93% of Milan (which will cost them 520 million euros and an additional 220 million euros in debts which they will cover) and so this 100 million euros is the equivalent of nearly 20% of the stakes. The crucial first phase has been complete, now the final closing should occur in the first days of November when Sino-Europe will pay the remaining 420 million euros.
     
    Second phase: the Organizational chart: It is now up to Marco Fassone to create the Milan of the future. It will be up to him to create a whole new staff for Milan. Fassone is already thinking of adding a new sporting director (Bigon and Pradè are the 2 most likely names) and he would also like to add an ex-Milan legend to his staff as well (Maldini, Costarcuta and Albertini are the names). He will also need to replace Umberto Gandini who is headed towards Roma. One of the main goals of the Chinese will be to increase Milan’s marketing and brand in Asian in an attempt to increase revenue.
     
    ….then the transfer market: Once the final closing is official, Milan will have 350 million euros to spend on the transfer market (over the next 4 seasons). Milan want to sign a voluntary agreement with Uefa concerning the Fifa financial fair play to have a bit more flexibility. Milan’s next sporting director should have an impressive budget in his hands for the January 2017 transfer market even if Milan’s transfer strategy will also depend on their position in the standings once January arrives. Rodrigo Caio and Musacchio are two names that Milan will surely target to improve their defense while Milan Badelj might also be a target if Sosa does not impress in the Vice-Montolivo role. It is only the beginning , but a new Milan is under construction.
