    Montella: ‘Pasalic not a playmaker’

AC Milan boss Vincenzo Montella has taken a press conference ahead of the rossoneri’s clash against Napoli at the San Paolo tomorrow.

Here there are the highlights of his presser.

ON NAPOLI – “We’ll face a club competing for the scudetto. They’ve lost Higuain but they’ve got reinforcements on other sides of the pitch. It’s an important game for our ambitions and for our dimension. I want to evaluate the performances more than the result. We’ll have to have personality and self-confidence.”
“There is still plenty of work to be done, we received too many compliments for what we’ve achieved so far.”

SOSA AND GUSTAVO GOMEZ – “They are both eligible to play, but I don’t know for how long. I like the fact that they are training well with the rest of the group.”

TRANSFER MARKET – “I don’t like to talk about that, the club know what I want. I’m talking to them.”

TORINO CLASH – “I hope my players did not panic, Our personality can increase.”

NIANG – “He has to know how to manage an entire game. He’s not the only player to have slowed down last week. The club had a mental dip, not physical. We have to become mentally stronger.”

ROMAGNOLI – “The club has the last word and I am happy that they consider Alessio unsellable. I hope he’s not going to be distracted by transfer rumours in the last day of the window, I know he’ll be concentrated.”

EUROPA LEAGUE MILAN’S OBJECTIVE – “I hope we can raise the bar and fight for other results. It’ll take ten games to see which level we are. We have to focus on our idea of football, not on objectives, we have to improve in every sector.”

PASALIC – “He’s such a promising midfielder, he was considered a rising star but he has attacking features, he has never played in front of defence. It would take time to adapt him in that position.”

BERTOLACCI – “It might recover sooner than expected. Medics are working well.

POLI – “He will be eligible to play after the International break.”
