Palermo get one-game stadium ban after crowd trouble

Serie A strugglers Palermo will play the next home game behind closed doors, the Italian football league has revealed.

The Rosanero Ultras threw firecrackers onto the pitch during last week’s home game against Lazio causing two suspensions, one in the first half and one in the second half.

The ban will cover Palermo’s next home game against Atalanta scheduled for Wednesday the 20th of April.
In the meantime, eleven players have been suspended for the next Serie A matchday.

Leonardo Blanchard (Frosinone), Marten De Roon (Atalanta) and Samuel Souprayen (Verona) were showed the red card last week-end and will hand a one-game ban alongside Arlind Ajeti (Frosinone), Davide Astori (Fiorentina), Luca Cigarini (Atalanta), Matias Munoz (Genoa), Robin Quaison (Palermo), Andrea Ranocchia (Sampdoria), Simone Zaza (Juventus) and Piotr Zielinski (Empoli) who reached yellow card limit.
