PAPER TALK: Chelsea in € 60m Koulibaly bid, Juve consider Zaza-Gabbiadini swap deal

Chelsea continue the pursuit of a new centre-back with three Serie A defenders who are on Antonio Conte’s whish list.

The Blues had made offers for both Giorgio Chiellini and Alessio Romagnoli in the last few days even if Antonio Conte’s priority is believed to be Napoli star Kalidou Koulibaly.

According to today’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, Chelsea have made an improved bid for the Senegalese defender who wants t leave Napoli to join the Premier League. Chelsea have reportedly offered € 55 million plus € 3 million bonus, but Aurelio De Laurentiis doesn’t want to sell the 25-year-old and might propose him a contract extension in the next few weeks.

Napoli are also considering the future of Manolo Gabbiadini. The highly-rated Italian striker will get more game time than last season after the departure of Gonzalo Higuain, but Napoli are willing to add a new striker to Maurizio Sarri’s attacking force.

Simone Zaza has emerged as a possible target of the partenopei and, according to Tuttosport, they could propose Juventus a player-swap deal with Manolo Gabbiadini who is a product of Juventus academy.

The Old Lady, however, would prefer to sell Zaza abroad, even if the player would prefer to stay in Italy and Napoli, at the moment, are the only Serie A club that can afford the purchase of the former Sassuolo star.
