Serie A: Zarate banned for three matches, Kondo receives two-game suspension

Mauro Zarate and Geoffrey Kondogbia have been banned for three and two games respectively after the duo were sent off by referee Paolo Mazzoleni during Fiorentina v Inter on Saturday evening.

The Argentinean striker has been banned for grabbing Inter’s defender Jaison Murillo from the neck and if the ban will be confirmed (Fiorentina are expected to appeal the Italian FA’s decision), the former West Ham man will miss La Viola’s games against Atalanta, Napoli and Roma.

Zarate complained about the decision, through his official Twitter account.
“Yes, yes, three games for just doing this!!!”, Zarate twitted.

Inter’s Frenchman, on the other hand, has been suspended for ‘disrespecting’ the referee just after the final whistle. Inter have already announced the will appeal the decision, but Kondogbia could miss their next two games against Sampdoria and Juventus.
