Zamparini backs Marchisio, says all commentators 'are the same'

Maurizio Zamparini is at it again, people.

Interviewed about Claudio Marchisio's recent comments in the wake of Juventus' hard-fought Coppa Italia tie with Inter, the Palermo president had his usual fascinating insights to share.

Marchisio had called out a RAI commentator (Gianni Cerqueti) for being "blind" for not spotting Ivan Perisic's assault on Juan Cuadrado, which should have earned him a red card. Inter would go on to tie the aggregate score, 3-3, but would fall on penalties after Rodrigo Palacio failed his effort from eleven yards.

Having never met a microphone he didn't like, Zamparini decided to take the Juve player's side, arguing that "many commentators say a lot of stupid things" to Radio 2. #

"I don't know any of their names, I bever listen to broadcasts anyway, games should be watched, not commentated".

"Games used to require commentary because they were on the radio, and not many people could watch them. Now that they're live on tv what's the point of having someone tell you whether it's a penalty or not?

"If there's an owner paying for their drinks, or for their shoes, then they can all be called as penalties"

    Ladies and Gentlemen... Maurizio Zamparini!
