AC Milan have finally their new defender: the Lombard club has in fact obtained from Villarreal on loan with right to buy 25 year old defender Cristian Zapata; the rossoneri will pay one million euros to the Spanish club for the loan and will be able to sign on permanent deal the Colombia national for 6 million euros. The signing of the former Udinese player also means that Milan have definitely renounced to Manchester United 26 year old Edin Dzeko and 28 year old Carlos Tevez, as the rossoneri cannot sign any more non EU players. Same story for Internacional de Porto Alegre 23 year old Leandro Damiao, perhaps also tracked, according to Sky Sport transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio, by Tottenham. The Lombard club will then have to swoop on an European forward, not AS Rome 30 year old Marco Borriello, who, despite the latest rumours, has, according to calciomercato.com,  absolutely no intention to move back to Milan; so, despite new surprises, the only targets remained are Juventus 27 year old Alessandro Matri and Inter Milan same aged Giampaolo Pazzini. On the contrary, Real Madrid ace Ricardo Kaka could still be signed as he has an Italian passport. The situation of 30 year old Antonio Cassano remains uncertain, as AS Rome Sports Director Walter Sabatini has admitted that an agent has offerd him the player but the official manager of the Italy national doesn't know anything about it.
