Di Canio’s ‘dux’ tattoo sparks controversy again

Paolo Di Canio was one of the most talked footballers during his playing career and the former West Ham ace still makes headlines despite being off the pitch.

Currently working as Premier League pundit for Sky Italia, the former Lazio captain went on TV yesterday wearing a t-shirt that left visible most of his tattoos on his arms.

Trouble is, one of this tattoos is a pretty big ‘Dux’ writing. ‘Dux’ is the Latin world for leader, a word that used to be referred to leader of Italian Fascist Party Benito Mussolini.

Di Canio has never hided his right-wing ‘sympathies’, but now many clients of Sky Italia are threatening to cancel their subscriptions to the Italian satellite television platform.

The Italian Jewish Community has also reacted to Di Canio’s tattoos and social media have been hitting out at the former footballer who has been accused of apologia of Fascism which is a crime under the Italian law.
